This Privacy Policy explains how JobProfit collects, uses, and safeguards your information when you use our platform.
Who we are
JobProfit (operated by Legal24by7 Technologies Private Limited, registered in India) is an AI-powered career platform connecting students, freshers, and working professionals with jobs, internships, training programmes, and career tools. What personal data we collect
We collect: (a) Account data — name, email address, mobile number, and password hash when you register. (b) Profile data — educational qualifications, work experience, skills, resume/CV files, profile photo, city, and career preferences you voluntarily provide. (c) Usage data — pages visited, features used, job applications submitted, courses enrolled in, and session identifiers, collected automatically via cookies and server logs. (d) Payment data — order amounts and transaction IDs processed through Razorpay or Stripe; we do not store full card numbers or UPI PINs. (e) Communication data — messages sent through our contact form or support channels.
Legal basis for processing (DPDP Act 2023)
We process your personal data on the following grounds under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023: (a) Consent — you provide consent at registration for us to process your profile data to match you with opportunities. You may withdraw consent at any time from Account Settings, which will result in account deactivation. (b) Legitimate use — processing necessary to provide the service you have signed up for, including matching your profile to job listings and sharing application data with employers. (c) Legal obligation — retaining financial transaction records as required under Indian tax and GST laws.
How we use your data
We use your data to: operate and personalise your account; match your profile with relevant jobs, internships, and training programmes; share your application with the recruiter or college you apply to; send transactional emails (application confirmations, interview invites, payment receipts); improve our AI models and recommendation engine using anonymised, aggregated signals; comply with legal obligations; and prevent fraud and abuse.
Who we share your data with
We share data only as follows: (a) Recruiters and colleges — when you apply to a listing, your profile information (name, email, phone, resume) is shared with that employer or institution. (b) Payment processors — Razorpay and Stripe receive transaction data to process payments; they are PCI-DSS compliant. (c) Hosting and infrastructure — Supabase (database and storage, hosted on AWS Mumbai region) and Vercel (web hosting, edge network). (d) AI services — anonymised prompt text may be sent to Google Gemini API to power AI tools; no personally identifiable information is included in prompts. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
Data retention
We retain your account and profile data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we permanently delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. financial records kept for 7 years under GST regulations). Anonymised, aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely.
Your rights under DPDP Act 2023
As a Data Principal under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, you have the right to: (a) Access — request a summary of the personal data we hold about you. (b) Correction — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data. (c) Erasure — request deletion of your personal data ('right to be forgotten'). (d) Grievance redressal — raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer within a reasonable time. (e) Nominate — nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity. To exercise any right, email support@legal24by7.com with the subject line 'Data Rights Request'. We will respond within 72 hours and fulfil verified requests within 30 days.
Cookies and tracking
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We use analytics cookies (first-party only) to understand how the platform is used. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site trackers. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings; note that doing so may affect platform functionality.
Data security
We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest (via Supabase), Row-Level Security (RLS) policies so users can only access their own data, and regular security audits. Despite these measures, no internet transmission is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
Children's privacy
JobProfit is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If we discover we have inadvertently collected such data, we will delete it immediately.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and display a prominent notice on the platform at least 7 days before changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
